What's New in Cloudku Cyber Protection — October 2026
A roundup of the Acronis 26.09 platform release: anti-ransomware recovery warranty, expanded Entra ID backup, faster NAS backups, and more.
Cloudku Cyber Protection runs on the Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud platform, which is updated regularly. The 26.09 release brings several improvements that matter to customers, from ransomware protection to faster NAS backups. Here’s the roundup.
Anti-ransomware recovery warranty
This is the headline of the release. Acronis has introduced a warranty program for endpoint disk, volume, and file backups. If data can’t be recovered from a recovery point that meets the program requirements, Acronis provides reimbursement of up to US$1 million.
A recovery point must meet these requirements to be covered:
- Backups are stored in Acronis-hosted cloud storage.
- Two-factor authentication (2FA) is enabled.
- Immutable storage is enabled in Compliance mode.
- Backups are validated by checksum, screenshot, or heartbeat.
Full terms follow the Acronis warranty program. Contact the Cloudku team to check whether your backup configuration qualifies.
Warranty aside, these four requirements are good practice anyway: 2FA, copies that can’t be deleted, and backups proven to restore.
More complete Microsoft Entra ID backup
Microsoft Entra ID backup now covers more objects, including organization, user, group, and role settings as well as custom domains. Labels for protected objects are clearer, and administrators can find BitLocker keys by device ID.
New files are backed up automatically
Administrators can now choose to include files added later to selected folders, even when some items in those folders are excluded. This per-folder option helps prevent unnoticed protection gaps.
Faster, more reliable NAS backups
- Faster. Incremental file-level backups from NAS shares now detect changes without scanning every file. When many files have changed, backups can run up to twice as fast; smaller change sets see more modest gains.
- More reliable. For append-only backups on NAS devices, the platform automatically switches to a full-plus-incremental scheme to reduce the risk of archive corruption.
Other updates
- Agentless VM archive password rotation. Periodic encryption-key rotation policies can now be applied to agentless VM backup archives on all supported hypervisors.
- Nutanix AOS 7.3 and 7.5. Agentless backup and recovery for VMs on Nutanix AOS 7.3 and 7.5, including Prism Central integration.
- Visibility into automated EDR responses. Automated anti-malware actions, such as quarantined files and stopped processes, now appear directly in the EDR incident investigation view.
